COMMITMENT TO PRIVACY


This statement sets out the policy of The Entrance Plaza Pty Ltd (ACN 003 580 167) trading as Lakeside Shopping Centre The Entrance (“Lakeside”) for the collection, use, storage and disclosure of personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (“Cth”) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

We recognise the importance of protecting your privacy and our Privacy Policy is designed to assist you in understanding the collection, use, storage and disclosure of personal information provided to us. We may update our Policy from time to time to take into account legislative changes, improvements in technology, changes to our operations and business practices. 

1. Collection of Personal Information


To assist Lakeside in providing a superior service to its customers and retailers, personal information may be collected. Personal information is information or an opinion that can identify a person.

We will only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for one or more of our functions or activities. Examples of such functions or activities include (but are not limited to) operating our shopping centre, marketing, conducting promotions and competitions, holding in-centre and online events and activities and providing centre management to our customers and retailers.

We will only collect personal information directly from you, for example, when you subscribe to our newsletter or mailing list, enter into promotions or competitions, register for an event, complete surveys or email feedback forms on our website.

The personal information collected is dependent on what you decide to tell us about yourself, such as providing your name and your email address when you send us an online query or when you enter into a marketing event we are running. If you choose not to provide your personal information to us then it may not be possible for us to provide you with the full range of our services.

2. Using and Disclosing Your Personal Information

We respect your privacy.  Any personal information we collect is used for the particular purpose for which it was collected, for any other related purpose you would reasonably expect us to use it for, or as required by law. This might include maintaining client relationships, maintaining our online directory, the provision of marketing material or for other related business activities.

We will not disclose your personal information other than for the particular purpose for which it was collected or for any other related purpose you would reasonably expect us to disclose it for or as required by law. We may, in some situations where it is necessary, disclose your personal information to third parties, such as our retailers and organisations who provide services to us.

From time to time Lakeside employs contractors and sub-contractors in the course of its business activities. On occasion it may be necessary for Lakeside to provide its contractors and sub-contractors access to personal information held about its customers or retailers. In these circumstances the contractors and sub-contractors will be required to comply with Lakeside’s Privacy Policy.

We may transfer your personal information to third parties in countries outside Australia but solely for the purpose of operating our cloud servers, however, we will not otherwise disclose your personal information to overseas recipients.

We will not otherwise disclose your personal information without your consent.

3. Direct Marketing

Personal information collected by Lakeside may be used by us to send you direct marketing communications by email from time to time. The direct marketing may relate to our products and services, promotions, discounts or competitions we consider might be of interest to you.

You will be provided with the option to opt-out of receiving any direct marketing communication we send you by using the unsubscribe function that will be available in the communication.

4. Online Privacy

When visiting our website, you may be invited to provide information about yourself which we use to personalise our service and deliver material most suited to your needs.

When visiting Lakeside’s website the website may send “cookies” (i.e small text files placed on your computer when you first visit the site) to the visitor’s computer. Visitors to Lakeside’s website who do not wish to receive cookies should select the appropriate settings in their web browser.

Most of the information we do collect from our website is statistical only (e.g. the date and time you access our site, your IP address, the internet address of the website from which you accessed our site, the data you download from our website) and is not personally identifiable.

5. Storage and security of Information

Any personal information collected will be stored by us on an electronic cloud based overseas database, in physical files or handled by a third party service provider at an off-site location.

Any overseas recipient of your personal information stored in a cloud database will be subject to the same obligations to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Where we no longer require your personal information for business or legal reasons, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Lakeside endeavours to protect the security of your personal information and its intended use. We take all necessary measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of personal information provided to us and take all reasonable precautions to protect it from unauthorised use or alteration.

Although Lakeside takes all commercial and reasonable security precautions regarding your personal information collected from our website, due to the nature of the internet, we cannot guarantee that any of your personal information will be free from unauthorised access.

Lakeside is not liable for any theft or loss of, unauthorised access or damage to, or interception of any data communications.

6. Acceptance of Use

By accessing our website, you indicate your acceptance of this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right, at our discretion to amend, modify, add or remove portions from this Privacy Policy from time to time.

You have the right to access, review, update or correct your personal information in our possession. You also have the right to withdraw your consent to processing of personal information at all times, and to request that your personal information be deleted.
